This week, DJ Diablo brings us two tracks that mix a little bit of old with a little bit of new. The theme? Dubstep vs House music. When you turn on the radio in your car, you’ll hear either super pop music, house music, or the UK’s latest addition to electronic music: Dubstep. It seems everyone is jumping on the electronic music train. Hip hop and rap used to be popular on the radio and in clubs, but now it seems they’ve taken a more electronic-sounding approach to their sound; it appears to be working. Many people have their reservations about Dubstep and I don’t blame them. Sure, it lacks range and it’s in-your-face-hard-hitting-bass, but it’s different; and it’s still here. I’m not exactly sure how long this type of music will last and many people believe it’s just a fad, but if it’s truly just a fad, that’s fine. Enjoy it while you can. We’ll anxiously await for the next fad to take over.
We’ve heard this on the radio but it’s a Dubstep remix worthy of listening to. The intro gives me chills! Great remix.
House music on the other hand, has been around since the 80′s and it’s clearly not going anywhere. Now, even more than ever, we hear House music everywhere. Some of the biggest and most famous DJs from around the world (Deadmau5, Afrojack, Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, etc) are House DJs and their music is infectious. You hear it on the radio, in clubs, and I know you’ve got a few tracks on your iPod when you go jogging.
Love this track! It brings back Boston’s old classic hit and gives it a shiny new update.
So whether you’re a House head or a new Dubstep evangelist, maybe you can appreciate these tracks for what they are. Amazing music!
Don’t forget this upcoming Saturday, September 24th, Olivia Blois from Style Network’s hit show, Jerseylicious will be throwing a party at 8fifty8 Chicago!
